Default Plastic resurfacing

I own a LS400 with navi and the stereo plastics and navi screen panels are completely faded due to plastic oxidation. I plan to resurface them using a hot gun method. Do I risk breaking the internals if I do so with all the components housed?
I am not gonna blow any near to the navi screen but on all the panels and keys though. To give a quick idea, I attached a stock picture (not my faded)

Hi Sherl,

I have never done this on plastic, but I would not advise doing this, because heat is the enemy of all electronics.

Unless you disassemble it and separate all of the fascia pieces, you might risk damaging the screen.

Also, keep in mind that the buttons are white plastic (last time I checked, this is how they are able to be illuminated), with black paint on top. So, any fading on the buttons probably won't be able to be fixed, because the black portions of the buttons are just paint.
