Default How much would it cost to fix this?

A SUV merged to my lane and ran off last night and I couldn’t get his license info. I think it was a drunk driver as he was swerving and it was after midnight.

My Uninsured motorist deductible is $1000. Should I go through my insurance or pay out of pocket?

Some of that appears to be material transfer and would come right off with a solvent and/or paint correction work.

Anything that has penetrated the clear coat will require repainting to completely fix. If you want to go that route, go to a body shop and get an estimate.

That looks like it is dented a bit as well. If so, get a new panel(s). You mentioned that you have a $1000 deductible uninsured motorist. Wouldn't it be a claim against your collision or comprehensive coverage? Do you have the same deductible for that?

Anyway, I think if dented, you are looking at about $1500.00 easily, most likely more. Good luck!

Claim against my collision deductible is $500 but would only apply if I was at at fault and that’s not what it’ll say on the police report.

Got an estimate at a local shop and it’s a crease on the door panel. They said they could bondo and repaint for $1k but I’m gonna get other quotes and see if I should go through insurance.

I would expect to pay $1000 at the very least for fender and door work with blended paint to finish it off. I had someone hit my 08 IS250 back in the day in almost the identical location as yours and I got a full quote from a Lexus dealer for almost $1700 taxes in (fully covered by insurance) - It looks like some is paint transfer as Zach mentioned above but your fender is fubar or very close to it
