Dr. Colorchip is universal you can use it to make the color of your choice and the Lexus touchup paint comes with your factory paint. Either way, none will match perfectly imo.

If your doing it for your own car, I would go for the Lexus one, if you need it for multiple cars it would be beneficial to have the universal dr color chip so you can make your own colors and use accordingly.

So, I've used both on my smoky granite mica GS, and Dr. Colorchip is hands down the better choice. The Lexus paint looked way too dark and rich, which didn't match the aged paint. The Colorchip paint seemed to come a couple shades lighter, which was a nearly flawless match. I ordered the same kit for my parents' 2002 dark green Tundra, and had the same experience. Great overall product, in my opinion.

used dr color chip on my viper and mustang. The fact that you can level it instead of blobby touch up pens is the biggest selling point. If you have a deep chip you may have to do a few fills

Yep, I had a deep scratch about 1" long, all the way to the metal, and I did about 5 coats to level it out with the mini squeegee in the kit. Would just put a blob on the paint, then swipe it over a few times, let it cure, then repeat. Could use a few more coats, but it looks great.
