Removing hard water spots on glass
This is for my 2011 Toyota Land Cruiser. Bought the truck back in May, when I went to pick it up they had just washed it for delivery (snooty Land Rover dealership). I noticed a lot of spots on the glass, but I didn't think much about it as it was still drying. I jumped in the truck and drove it 500 miles home. I'm finally getting to fix this, and I think I've figured out the first thing I should have done was immediately drive it to a store and buy a MF towel and some glass cleaner. Now the spots are really set in the glass, they seem to be from lots of mineral deposits in the water, it's like they are almost etched into the glass. The paint is fine, it's only the side windows.
I've tried Invisible Glass, polishing with my PC RO, claying, straight vinegar, and a paste of vinegar and baking soda (scrubbing with a ScotchBrite pad). Nothing is touching the spots.
Is this permanent? Anything I can use to polish them out?

My fix is citrol, or clay bar it. I don't like abrasive solutions.

this stuff is amazing, you'll be surprised at what this stuff will remove. It won't harm your paint as long as you don't let it dry, but it will remove your wax.Last edited by Coleroad; 08-11-17 at 12:43 PM.

That sounds a lot like P21S "Total Auto Wash" which is a citrus-based spray cleaner, I use it for cleaning engines since it leaves no residue. Did nothing.
I agree, I don't want to use an aggressive abrasive, I don't want to cause swirls that will be even harder to remove.
