Default Pinstripe REMOVAL !!

Hello kind and helpful folks of Club Lexus ! I recently bought a used (obviously) 2008 Pebble Beach Edition ES350 ; I like most everything about the car EXCEPT for the UGLY pinstripes it came with !

I have come across many DIFFERENT approached to take the pinstripes off ... can I just literally apply Lacquer Thinner with a microfiber cloth directly onto the pinstripes and remove it all?

Any and all advice are appreciated!

I have absolutely no experience with this particular problem but my immediate thought is that a hair dryer or heat gun and and a nylon spatula should be very helpful.

Same thing here. I bought a 2009 pebble beach and hated the stripe. After trying a couple of methods that ended up marring a test section, I researched and found that heavy duty easy off oven cleaner worked like a charm. No visible problems with the paint a year later and that includes after compounding and polishing with a porter cable polisher. I just sprayed the oven cleaner in half of an aluminum can, put painters tape around the area, rubbed the paint away with a q tip, and washed the area immediately after.

Sounds crazy but it worked very well. It's actually a very nice painted on stripe from the factory, but I thought it looked much, much better without.

They make a pin stripe removal wheel (rubber wheel) that connects to a drill and this will erase the pin stripes...... NAPA, Amazon or any body shop supply dealer sells them.
