Dr. Colorchip paint repair - LS430
Has anyone used the Dr. Colorchip product before? I have 2 big rock chips that I can't stand to look at anymore. I don't really want to repaint my hood and fender just yet, so I am looking for a quick fix thats not too expensive. Or if you have had any experience with other paint repair products, please share. My car color is Cypress Pearl. Thank You!

I tried it on my silver years ago on the area below the grille. I just could't get it to "smear" as they instructed as it actually removed some of the paint and left it looking odd.

This is the first I've heard of an application problem, so I'm following this thread... It looks so easy in the videos!

Thanks for the Tip! The couple of chips I have are down to the bare metal. Hopefully it doesn't look too bad after LOL!

use coupon code "DAD" for 15% off, just got this in email
highly suggest getting that 10 pack of brushes for a few bucks, the included brush is a big too thick for precise work, then you can toss it after fixing a batch of chips.
I use dr color chip in combination with xpel. Hood on the mustang was expensive to do so I only did xpel on the front bumper and opted for dr color chipping any hood chips instead of paying $1000 for a hood bra. I did full hood and bumper on the viper but I had to fix a lot of chips from the previous owner.

I used it on my prior RX350 (Starfire Pearl) and was very satisfied. (Even though they have a disclaimer that pearls can't really be well-matched with touchup paint, it was a really close match!). It is as easy as they say. I ended up doing more that I planned (some lower bumper chips, etc. to make it almost perfect.

basically dab a small amount on, quickly smear/wipe off excess, making sure its filling the chip. Wait a few minutes, then gently use the leveling liquid and the cloth to get the touch up smooth. If you have a deep chip you have to do this multiple times to fill it, letting it cure before a new application. It will take a bit of learning but once you have it down the results are great

I used it on my smokey granite mica GS460, as well as my dad's fathom blue Chevelle, and both turned out great. Don't have any before pics, but can snap a few shots of the finished products later (if I can remember). The GS has had it on there for 2+ years with no fading or anything. Great product, in my opinion.
