Sad over scratched dash

hi guys, I'm upset because I wiped my dashboard gently with a microfiber cloth just to get the dust off and now I have a pretty prominent scratch😳

I went to to the dealership right after because I was shocked that the nuluxe would scratch like that and they agree that it's a problem. The thing is that it's irreparable and it's right in my line of sight while driving😢 I'm mad at how fragile this dash is! That's totally ridiculous.https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...7d3a8d896.jpegHere it is. I can camouflage it but when the light hits it, you can see an actual scratch through the material.

The MF cloth could not have done this. There had to be a rock or something sharp in the MF cloth to cause this. I have wiped my dash hundreds of times and never had this happen. Maybe something stuck in the cloth

try 303 aerospace protectant and buff it out

I have to agree with this... if a MF towel is soft enough and clean enough that it will not scratch highly polished automotive paint, it certainly should not scratch leather/vinyl.

Mad Towels

i know a guy who owns a large microfiber towel and mop factory in China. The only thing he cautioned me was to try to get a towel without a sewed in tag and to look at the edging and the sewed in edge. The towel itself should scratch nothing.
Be careful if you used one to clean a wheel etc and then use it on the interior or paint without making sure it is very clean. They are cheap enough to just use a clean new one,

There are microfiber towels and then there are microfiber towels. Cheap MF's are not all that gentle. Add to that, if they are not properly cared for they can cause damage. I prefer 100% cotton toweling for the interior. Microfibers are more aggressive than cotton. Even some of the better MF's can mar the soft dash material if you apply too much pressure.

The dash can cause glare if you use some dressings which can lead to visibility issues at dawn and dusk. You might try Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant Dash & Trim Restorer. Apply a thin coat with a new foam pad and be sure to gently wipe it down after application to knock down any glare. You may be able to hide the blemish with this approach.
