Default Dashboard Cleaner / Protectant?

Need recommendations for cleaning and protecting dash on my newly purchased 2013 ES 350.

Seems to be leather, gets a lot of heat here in S. Fla

Thanks!

Another vote for 303 Aerospace Protectant. It leaves a darker finish with a slight sheen to it that I really like.

I've been using 303 for almost a year now. Based on Zach's recommendation too

303.

Sure there are probably several others that are just as good, but why bother? 303 works great. You can get it at any marine store and many auto parts stores. Not too shiny, very protective.

303. Not too shiny, doesn't outgas much if you use a reasonable amount.

Does it take care of scuffs? Is it more a dressing than a cleaner?

It's not a cleaner at all. It's a dressing.

It does actually clean by virtue of it lifting dirt from the surface. I've been able to remove dirt from the grain of plastic using 303, other cleaners were not doing much and I didn't want to use anything more harsh.

My vote goes to Ultima Interior Guard Plus. I like the stock matte looking finish it leaves and somehow a "velvety" feel on the surfaces you apply it to.

Its not cheap, but a little goes a very long way.

For more readily available (most boat supply shops will have it) and less expensive, 303 is a winner.

The only thing I use on my dash is Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer. QID is mainly a cleaner but it does contain strong UV protection. It leaves no added gloss at all so no glare concern. I've had no dash issues on my old 2004 RX330 nor my newer 2014 RX350. Both cars spent a good deal of time in the Florida sun.

As to UV protection, keep in mind that all auto glass is a strong UVB blocker. The windshields of most modern vehicles also block a portion of the UVA spectrum. The side and rear glass does not block much, if any, of the UVA spectrum.

I've sought information the manufacturers as to what spectrum of UV is blocked. I've not received this data from any manufacturer, so I'm left with my own experience as my guide. QID worked well for me for over 10 years. I suspect 303 would have done just as well, yet it is not a cleaner. QID is both a cleaner and has strong UV protection. I find it more versatile and convenient so that's what I've been using.

I have three products around for light cleaning/protection of the interior:

1) Einszett Cockpit Premium
2) 303 Aerospace Protectant
3) Optimum Protectant (aka Leather Protectant)

The material and desired sheen determine which I use. Most of the time I do not use 303 on the dash or door panels, that's just my preference. I use Optimum Protectant most often.

I just ordered Optima Interior Guard Plus. I saw some comparison pics, and I do like the slightly darker look and matte finish compared to 303. Just me. LOL

303 is too shiny for some applications, I have one car the dash becomes and absolute uneven sheen mess with 303. For that situation I use cockpit premium, which sort of cleans and protects in one step. It is a very nice matte look like when you first bought the car new. also use it on matte carbon fiber finish.
but 303 seems to be more gentle on some painted plastics.
