Yellow stain on hood of Rx 350

Hello everyone, I have a yellow stain on my new rx 350 that I can't seem to remove.

Quick backdrop, I was driving underneath the # 7 train for about 5 minutes. When I get out, I notice 2-3 black marks on my hood and roof. It was sticky as well. I used chemical guys quick cleaner and it removed the black stuff however underneath it, left a yellowish stain. My hood has xpel clear film so I used rubbing alcohol and it made it better (98%) but I can still see it since I know about it. Most people wouldn't even notice unless I pointed it out.

Now on my roof area, I can't seem to make it better (im assuming since it doesn't have the xpel film?)

Anyone have any ideas on how to remove this? Is this tar? And do trains drop this substance?

I appreciate any help given...

I would suggest claying if you have that product on hand. It really works wonders. If not, after trying alcohol, use the mildest polish you can find and be gentle.

You're going to have to determine if this is an above surface contamination issue, or below surface defect (ie staining/etching of the paint).

For above surface contamination, you'll need to find a chemical cleaner to remove it (this may be difficult to diagnose if you don't know what the substance is), or something like a clay bar may also be useful.

If it has penetrated the surface, you will need to use an abrasive such as a polish, compound, or even sanding depending on how severe the damage is to remove a small amount of paint in order to eliminate the stain.

As already mentioned..... start with the least aggressive method and work your way up accordingly.

I recently had the same thing happen to my car, only I pressed too hard on my yellow clay bar and it stained the paint. I used a super mild polish and it took it right out! I would say something like Meg's Ultimate Polish
