So... someone decided it'd be okay to love tap my car and leave without leaving a note. Would this rust if i don't get this fixed soon? From your guys' (or girls' to be politically correct) experience, how much would it cost to repair this kind of scratch? i would suspect it at least hit the primer if not past it....

That looks like the rear bumper... correct?

If so, it is plastic... plastic does not rust.

If it is on another panel that is a metal substrate and the scratch has exposed bare metal, then yes, it will rust.

This indeed looks like the bumper. It won't rust since it's plastic. How deep is the scratch? If it is really gouged in then buffing it off would be out the answer. My rough estimate would be a $200 job to fix at a reputable body shop.

that just paint residue from the other car, a quick buff, even a clay bar would take 90% of that out....
