I would use a true automotive cleansing shampoo like Chemical Guys Citrus Wash instead of dish soap.

Dealership typically slap on a quick glaze. Looks flawless when you pick it up.

yes... you can use dawn (original) or foam and wash with an APC mix (my choice), or just wash with an APC mix. then i would seal it then wax.

week after I got the car I washed with Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo then clayed the whole car to clean the surface. I then used the Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion and then used Pinnacle signature series II wax. I wanted to get all the dirt off that happens when they transport the car. Dealers just do quick clean to make it look good.

APC = all Purpose Cleaner. It will break down all the oils and crap from the dealer molestation . I use optimum power clean but there are many more you can choose from.

I'll be clay barring really soon(first time). Should I rewash after the clay bar, or go straight to the seal/wax?

You're going to get answers both ways. If you are really clean wiping up any remnants from the clayng as you go, some may say you can proceed with wax/sealant. I'm not a professional that does this every day as some are that respond here and know they'll do a perfect job each time... Personally, I do a quick re wash of my car... It's fast enough to do and ensures if I have any little pieces of clay or lube that I didn't get off during that process, it's gone before potentially interfering with the wax/sealant application.

I also did a rewash after claying. Car was so clean and smooth that the water rolled off. I then did a pre-cleaner and then on to the wax
