Default Interior door panel trim issue

My 2010 LS460L with 28000 miles is already showing wear to the door arm rests. The interior color is Alabaster (an off white color). The door armrest is vinyl not the upgraded leather option and what appeared to be just some dirty marks have turned out to be color that has worn through.

The finish seems to be a type of paint which seems common on most cars these days, but I don't see an easy way to restore this. I am aware of the franchise guys who visit the dealership to carry out interior repairs but the quality of this type of repair varies from what I have previously experienced. Typically they don't mask and therefore over spray onto would trim and other parts of the door can happen which if you are picky does not sit well.

I guess I was wondering what you guys (who are more experienced with detailing) do in a situation like this. One idea I had was to remove the whole door panel and see if I can remove the arm rest so that it could be painted off the car. I don't know if it will come off however.
