Default Ran out of ONRWW and OOC

it was entirely my fault for not paying attention to my stash. i was going through withdrawls for a couple of hours, trying to figure out what i was going to wash the car with... jumped in the car and drove to advanced auto, saw Griots spray on car wash, nah i decided against the griots, then boogied on down to wal-mart and found this...

not bad at all, and it smells divine. used the Gary Dean method of course plus a little of my own detailing prowess. will be placing an order for a Gallon of ONRWW and OOC.

can't see it in the pics but the turtle wax did a very good job and the shine was equivalent if not better than if i'd washed her with ONRWW. i could be imagining this... but then again maybe not. time for the testing phase, TW VS. ONRWW. i love detailing.

There was a pretty extensive thread on AGO about the turtle wax rinseless wash... I did not read it since I didn't care to learn about it, but you may want to go see what others are saying.

Car looks great as always

hopefully it was nothing negative... I'll check that out now. Thanx for the heads up Z. You know rolling in a dirty Lexus is against the law . I like to keep her clean and classy.

Went trolling over at AGO, and all the reviews for TWRW are all positive. Didn't know Megiuar also had a RW D114, which also got good reviews. bF has one also, and BFRW also got good reviews.

Good to know! I suppose any of them can be used for clay lube/QD spray as ONR can... did you see any info on that?

Still not sure I will ever steer away from ONR...

BF and Meguiars can be used as a Clay lube and QD, but i didn't see anything on TW being used as such. I don't think i'll stray from ONR, but it's good to know that there will be a temp alternative if i ever run out. the TW cleaned the car well and i used my Brinkman afterwards and there were no scratches or swirls etc... funny but the paint seemed slicker after i washed with the TW.

How would you compare-test these products. They're probably all good. One thought I had was to check for a film left on glass, since it should be easier to see on glass. After all, if you have a coating, it's pretty similar to cleaning glass, isn't it?

you would probably have to wait until the car is filthy, then do a comparison test. (i never let her get that dirty, you can eat off my car on any given day). the glass test sounds interesting... i did notice some streaks after wiping the glass with TWRW as opposed to no streaking when i used the ONRWW. now that you mention it, the glass did seem as though it had a film after i used the TWRW.

ONRWW = Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax

...and I suspect OOC = Optimum Opti-Coat (although it would cost a fortune in a gallon size if there were such a thing )
