Default Best touch-up paint kits?

Hi:

I have an RX 350 / 2010 in Matador Mica Red. I've seen from other posts here that the paint # is 3R1.

I have a few nick in the paint I'd like to fix, but I'm not sure which is the best touch kit to buy. Any suggestions?

Had to have it repaired a few months ago, due to a garage door coming down on the roof of the 350. The body shop did an excellent job and matched the paint perfectly. They gave me a small bottle of the paint for touch ups, but the color of red is much lighter than the actual color on the car.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

I also recommend Dr. Colorchip. I used it prior to clearbraing the front end and it looks great.

An honest question... What is the benefit of using a 3rd party for touch-up paint if the dealer (or Sewell, with that discount) has it available? I get it if the mfgr does not produce it any longer (had that problem finding touch-up for my mom's 15 YO RAV4), otherwise, is there something better with say Dr Colorchip vs the OEM version I've been missing all these years? Thx!

Dr ColorChip is more about the process than being 'the best paint'. With the DrC method you dab on the paint, smear it with your thumb (in a rubber glove..provided in the kit), dab and smear some more...Once it drys..you use their remover fluid to rub away the excess paint..

The result is a virtually unseen touch up..compared to the standard brush type touch up processes ...that leave an ugly blog.

I've use Dr ColorChip and many of the other types of touch ups....Dr ColorChip is easily the best I have ever used..It's a bit pricey, but not crazy expensive..

I recently got Dr. Color Chip to use for scratches and chips. My personal experience is that DrC method is really good for deeper and bigger chips since it allows the paint to settle into the groove and not be wiped off by its formula blob remover. However, DrC isn't good for finer scratches where you can feel it with your finger nail but can't buff out. So I just ended up using the provided brush and painted over the fine scratches.
