Removing scratches from wood trim
 

Someone scratched up the wood trim on my new BMW. Before shelling out for new trim, I want to see if I can polish it out.

I remember someone here suggested Scratchx or Plastx for this purpose.

Can someone explain in detail how to use Scratchx or Plastx or similar products for this purpose, and what to watch out for to make sure I don't make it worse?

just read the instructions and it should work fine.

if the scratches are deeper, then you might want to wetsand then apply the plastix on the affected part.

what really works great is a mothers powerball on the affected parts... but by going with this method, you will want to take the trim out of your car.

Or you can mask off the other trim pieces and use the mini powerball. Several layers of blue painters tape/paper should provide enough protection, but you obviously want to use a steady hand and not beat the ever loving tar out of the area. The mini concentrates the effort, so that should help in that regard. ;)

Scratchx did the trick.

That works great too! The main reason I would take out the trim is so the plastic polish wouldn't get everywhere when using the powerball... lol.
