Default Cleaning Rear Window Glass on '08 IS-F

Anyone have any helpful hints on how best and what tools you use to clean the interior glass on a Gen2 IS (I have an IS-F). The rear brake light makes it impossible, or so it seems, to get the interior glass sparkling clean.

Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

I found a spray of QD and a small spray of vinegar on a towel removes the oily substance quite nicely. You can also get those Microfiber wand things that you can get at Target. I like them since I tend to bump my head against the glass when reaching to the corners with my hands lol

I use this...

I'm pretty sure it's similar to what eyezack87 was referring to. That third brake light is a PITA to get around. All you can hope to do is get as close to cleaning around it without removing the darn thing.

Default Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the hints. An engineer could design a 3rd brake light housing that would pivot or otherwise move out of the way to facilitate cleaning. Lexus won't take note, however.

Things that pivot have a higher chance of breaking in the future than a stationary object. Most of the time to remove it, its just a simple tug

I also have one of those mop tool things that I got from autogeek a while ago. Pretty handy. Check Walmart... they have the Stoner one. It's the same thing.

I have an IS350. You can remove the center stop light. In fact, I remove all three headrests and the light to better reach and clean the window. To remove, gently press in on the side of the light assembly and pull up. The other side should come up easily. Then, unplug the wiring and remove the assembly. To re-install, replug the wiring and then insert one side and gently press in on the other side, and it will snap in.
