See the problem is that m105 is compound for a paintwork, not for aluminium. Try get Blackfire metal compound or Autosol or Britemax - something whitch is for aluminium.
Try sand down with 2000grid sandpaper and then polishing with metal compound. You can use a Mothers powerball with Your home drill, its great working. But before You start sanding try with pure alcohol - IPA - that might remove them

oh, i didn't make myself clear. The rims are clear coated so metal compound won't work.
im thinking about sanding down maybe from 600 grit up to 3000 grit (removing clear coat) then using mother's mag and aluminum

Right, so if they are clearcoated You make a small bit of sanding with 2000 and polishing with meg 105 and then lighter like meg205.
Make sure that You are sure what You doing with sanding - when You remove clearcoat You need clean wheels more then now. Pure aluminium is hard to keep clean. After each washing you need clean wheel till they will be dry.
But if You sure, You can sanding from 600, but if marks are not so deep I think You can start with 1200, and from 2000 with water.

do not use 600 grit that is stronger than 0000 steel wool

try 1500, then 2500 on the remaining spots only, M105 by hand should take out the scratches left from 2500 no problem

I'll probably sand down the whole lips. Rubbing with m105 gave me discoloration.

Wait, do i use M105 or Mother's alum polish after sanding down with 2500 or 2000?
m105 is suppose to be for painted surface i think.

after sanding down the clearcoat, u want to use a aluminum polish since its not clearcoated anymore. and yes m105 is used mostly for paint.

thanks for helping me out guys.
I tried 1200 grit on the stains but it didn't do any good.
so i tried 600grit (water proof) with water which got rid of them.
The pictures after applying mother's mag are attached.

Should i keep going or something look strange?

Same sort of thing happened to me, and it was 5 days after I bought my wheels. Basically I took my car into a self car wash bay. Sprayed off my wheels first, the wheels were so hot it burned the acid through the clear coat on my AMEs' and it was so bad I had to powder coat them. Looking good so far though man, keep up the good work.

now i know i didn't mess up haha thanks
Sanding is PITA..with no machine.
How much grit level can Mag and Alum polish get rid of? i ask cause some spots i missed to sand down with 2000 grit. 360 grit or 1300 grit scratches are still there. very little scratches with 360 grit near compact area like the spokes area.

hand polishing is actualy rather difficult to get perfect. If there are still scratches then you havent gone through the steps properly.
A good method is to make a sanding scratch from the inside of the wheel to the outside.
Then sand across until that scratch is no long visible. Then up the grit.
Keep repeating this process and dont go too fast up the grit levels.
remember-if you still see the intial scratch then you just need to keep going.
Eventualy you'll get there. just dont rush it.

I'm kind of surprised no one suggested using paint stripper to strip the whole lip.
I would of thought the damage itself would of been in the clear coat.
You could of stripped that off and just polished the whole rim with a alloy polish.

i heard about paint stripper but i wasn't sure if i can surely use it on polished lips. Even if i use the stripper, i have to sand it anyways lol so i don't see the need for it haha

hmm i sanded with 2000 grit but the scratches won't go away with polish. Is that mean i should go back to 1300 grit or re do 2000 grit?

I don't quite get your method. i don't see how the scratches won't be visible using a sand paper. Make sanding scratches in circular motion?

i compared my picture of sanded lips to other peoples. Mine looks way more hazier than theirs. Maybe this is why i can't get rid of the haze and scratches very wel..lol
