Thats a great list, man. I have a Griot's Garage Random 3" and it is Amazing.

The minimum is:

2 buckets with grit gaurds
Polishes
Glazes
Waxes
Sealants
Clay
Shampoo
Microfiber towels (again, brand doesnt nessecarily matter unless you are working on a freakin' Ferrari. Even then its more the thread count that matters).
Halogen work Lamps (or equivalent)
Random Orbital, or Dual Action polisher, that uses pads (NO BONNET TYPE BUFFERS).

Foam Gun (not nessecary, but ideal)
6 gallon bucket (comes in handy sometimes for things you need to wash that you dont need a grit guard, like truck beds).

As far as brands go, do your research, maybe try a couple different brands. Its all up to you really. Opinions are everywhere, and none of them may agree with your findings.

What do you guys use as pads for the GG 3" orbital?

Many companies make 3" pads? I only remember 3M having a couple and I THINK the other was Edge that made 3" pads. What are you guys using?

I've always been fine with 4" pads on a rotary for tight spots, but a 3" pad sounds like a nice idea.

Mother's clay
Duragloss 901 car soap
Ultima waterless wash concentrate
Ultima Interior Guard (interior and leather)
Ultima Trim and Tire Guard (tires, molding and trim)
Optimum Power Clean (APC)
303 Aerospace (engine dressing)

polishes
Menzerna Power Finish
Menzerna Super Finish 106FA

sealant/wax
Menzerna Power Lock sealant
top it 12 hours later with Collinite 845
no need to do it again for 6 months...

get some grit guards if you don't have them but just use the 5 gallon buckets from Home depot. If you want gamma seals there is place to buy them that will fit the HD generic buckets for $6.99

I have a griots. love the power and lifetime warranty

might need to pick up a 5in backing plate though. Or get the 5.5 inch Megs microfibre disc kit which comes with a 5in Meg's bp. Then you won't really need the power finish and super finish (but I would still keep them - lexus paint loves diminishing abrasives) -- you might get some 5.5 in lake country flat pads at a later date...

I have two Porter Cables and wish I had a Meguiar's.

My obsidian black Lexus really loves the Meguiar's D/A Microfiber Finishing Wax and MF Finishing Pad.

I have a set of 5" pads and 3" pads. Love'm.

No Problem man, to be honest, I think they might source from meguiar's, not sure. Either way, they back everything with a lifetime gauruntee. If you go to one of their retail locations and take their car care class, it will teach you alot. I have sent several family members there as punishment for neglecting their cars. Especially mom with her convertible. It's silver and she washes it once a year...when I am home on leave. LOL.
