Picked up a 2011 IS about two weeks ago. The car came with the Lexus Paint Protection package. Looks to be a clear bra on the front part of the hood and on the mirrors.

I got he car home and in my garage (with 12 large lights) and see what looks to be swirls under the bra. Could these by any chance be on the bra?

I was under the impression that the Paint Protection was a thing done at the factory from Lexus. Not done by the dealer. Am I wrong with that assumption? Either way, if they are under the bra WTF were they thinking?

Hard to say, one never knows for sure on this. You can try a light polishing on the bra to see if you can remove them at least. Some times these shops will just put on a Bra on a car and don't even know anything about swirls on a car and/or think that's normal.

I may try that. It does look like it's under the bra though. I'm still wondering if it's done at the factory or dealership. If it's the dealer I'm going back to be like WTF?

You would be amazed at the amount of scratches and swirls that can be own the car from the factory, when it reaches the dealereship, particularly on cars that are imported.
