Default Need help locating GRIOT'S rubber cleaner...

Been having a hard time finding this stuff to clean the gunk on my tires. I've tried Wal-Mart, Pep Boys, Track, Chief, and Autozone. Nothing. Anyone in the Los Angeles area know of a place that carries this stuff? THANKS!

Do you have to stick to Griots or can you use something else? For general tire cleaning I use ZEP Citrus Degreaser mixed 4:1. You can find it at Home Depot and its like $10 for a gallon of the stuff. Works just as well as P21S TAW too

I don't have to use the Griots, but after some searching, I concluded this was the best stuff. After years of Armour-alling my tires and never driving in rain or washing the car, I've accumulated a thick layer of "grease" on the tires. I've tried degreasers, like Simple Green, but that didn't work at all. This gook is really on there good. I was told in some Audi forums that Griots was made for this, but I'd be open to other products if they work and aren't too expensive.

Griot's products are sold in VERY few places, as it is so expensive. It's not something you normally find at any Walmart, Pepboys, Shuck's, etc...

You either have to buy it at their retail store (I believe there's only 2 in the US), online at their website, or from authorized dealers, which are usually high-end car shops. I'm lucky enough to live just 40 minutes from their flagship store.

Easiest way is to just order it online.

Griot's Garage products are amazing stuff.

Simple Green never did squat when I was inexperienced with detailing and used it on my tires. ZEP Citrus is an industrial strength cleaner. Try it out at full strength and make sure to agitate. The crap I had on my tires from using Meguiars Endurance Gel was killed in 2 hits since there was so much on the tires when I used it so I had to keep rinsing and exposing a fresh layer of gunk to clean off
