Default acid car wash?

i asked the local car wash what they do to remove water spots and they said they'd do an acid wash to remove the impurities. would white vinegar be just as effective and are these the steps you would take after trying claybar and scratch-x?

does it matter if i have obsidian since it supposedly has no clear coat?

Will they follow up the acid wash to make it pH neutral? By the sounds of it, they're doing a decontamination wash but you didn't say that they mention other steps in there...

To remove most impurities, vinegar+water to remove most water spots and claybar to remove stuff embedded into your paint is the best option. I would rather do it myself knowing whats going to happen than let a car wash place do it

Obsidian Black has a clear coat; I think 00+ Onyx black has a clear as well.

Yea, I would try the vinegar wash first. Its worked for me on a few occassions. Then just follow up w/ a nice wash afterwards

3M has a water spot remover formula... at your local auto store.
