NLR: Aston Martin DB9 Detailed
I try not to post too many details of other models from the forum which I post on, but since this is one of my top 5 favorite cars, I just had to share
2006 Aston Martin DB9! Such an awesome car imo. Had to pleasure of spending about 7 hours on it today. Full correction job. Enjoy
Some products used included:
Prewash and Wash:
Super Slick & Suds - 32oz
P21s Total Auto Wash - citrus based, biodegradable cleaner
Grit Guard
HydroFoamer Foam Gun
Wheels:
P21s Wheel Cleaner 1000ml
EZ Detail Brush
All Purpose Cleaner APC
Opti-Seal
Bold & Bright Tire Dressing
Wheel Wells:
Bare Bones Undercarriage Spray
Clay:
Extra Light Cut Clay. Cleans and removes surface contaminants.
LUBER- Synthetic Super Lube is the slickest Clay & CLAY BLOCK lubricant
Meguiar's Ultra-Cut Compound 105
3M 6068 Perfect-It 3000 Ultrafina SE
purple foamed wool polishing and cutting pad for rotary use
Lake Country MFG Orange light cut CCS Foam Pad
6.5" Black Foam Flat Finishing Pad
Wax:
clearkote carnauba moose wax
Before pic.
I now believe that AM puts the most god awful brake pads on cars! I never thought something would top bmw til I saw these.
All foamed up and ready to go
Yea, it had some major swirlage going on:
It was much worse than this pic shows:

After one pass of M105 on a purple foamed wool @ ~1600rpm
Lets pull it in the sun and check it out
ahh, much better now
Brake dust is a thing of the past after some p21s wheel cleaner... bold n bright on the tires:
It got clearkotes carnauba moose wax on top of it all. Was kinda rushed at the end b/c I had to run to another job... who wound up cancelling on me anyway:Boo:
anyway....

PaPaHoFF, as I said, heres his answer:
"WB is super strong and is like night and day to P21S. cut WB 4:1. It contains hydrofloric acid."
And as you may know, p21s is a very mild cleaner. So depending on what you want/need, your choice would vary based on the condition of the wheels

P21S wheel gel is a ph neutral wheel cleaner, it has no acid and isn't caustic, it's safe on all wheels. The cleaning power is about 1/1000th wheel brightener, but it still works well on wheels that won't tolerate acid/caustic cleaners.

That DB9 looks as monstrous as ever! That blue is so classy. How do you like the m105? Another detailer said it is a bit hard to track, but he was working on light colors.

I like 105. It has a small learning curve, can gum up a little and likes to have a freshly spurred pad after each panel, but I love the short work time and results. I've used it on a purple foamed wool and orange pad via rotary and really dont have any complaints besides the dusting.

Luv your work. Can't locate any perfectionist and quality minded detailers in Houston metropolitan area.
