Silicone based products are a No No! Silicone seperates from the other properties used and tends to cause dry rotting and cracking. Especially bad for engine bays areas and components.
Have you ever seen an older car with cracks all over the dash board? That is why....Armoral type products look nice, but is bad for any surface.
This is one of the many reasons I have developed my Black Tie Shine. VOC compliant ( as most of you know the government has a strong hold on that right now) and it will not dry rot anything!
Could be by some things only cost $3.00!

I use 303 as well. It's a carry-over product from my S2000 detailing days!
The stuff is fantastic...and can be purchased locally if you have a West Marine shop near you.
Click here for their store locator.http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...section=stores
If you buy it, you want the one with the blue label.

Today's generation Armor-All is a water based silicone formulation.
Years ago it was oil based (Dimethyl) and those were the products that gained them a (bad) reputation.
303 has always been water based.

I have been using Griots Garage Vinyl & Rubber Dressing for 4 years on my GX and my wife's X5 - works great and the seals all look new. I use it about 2-4 times a year. It seems to last a long time.
