Whoa! 30K for some wax?

hmmmm...I mean I don't mind paying for a quality product but I think this going way overboard.

I mean if you car already has a proper finish and shine, most quality products will do the trick.

Rare1 09-18-07 09:19 AM

Ok when I can find $30K to spend on wax, I would officially have too much money. What market are they trying to target with this? I think they're just trying to stir up interest in Zymol. Hell it's got us opening a thread dedicated to it. Good marketing if you ask me.

saw this on autopia and basically the other detailers are saying that its a $29,990 profit since it only takes 10 dollars to make the product >.<. i just think its ridiculous though.

woot someone got a new sig ^^

DavidinCT 09-18-07 10:19 AM

For $30K, it should come with a team of expert detailers for when ever you want you car waxed.....

mex lex 09-18-07 10:31 AM

Wow was this product meant for bently owners or something?

$30K for wax? In that case I'll just get a new paint job every couple of years...

VM 2 09-18-07 11:23 AM

It says renewable for life.

Just get 3000 guys to put out 10 bucks. haha

jfelbab 09-18-07 03:27 PM

To point out how ridiculous this is... You can get your car professionally repainted for about $4,000. That $30,000 would buy at least 7 paint jobs.

here's the video for that wax.

$30k is nothing if you're washing enzo ferraris all day and you charge a fortune it.

GSteg 09-18-07 03:58 PM

Marketing.

They want even more publicity. There are probably at least 100 people around the internet thinking this wax is the solution to all problems just because it cost $30k.

Give me a $30 wax and I'll make the car looks great. Then give an average joe that $30k wax and see if he can duplicate the work.

The zymol thing is getting out of hand.

Actually, Paul doesn't use the 30K wax - although he'll probably be using it in the future and charging his clients even more. He uses Royale.

From his website

Currently, his favoured product is a natural carnauba wax that protects paintwork underneath one or more tough, protective and water-resistant layers. Of particular note is Royale a £7188 wax with a staggering 73% White Carnauba concentration.

Not be picky here but this guy CHARGES LOTS for washing cars however he's washing that Maserati in the sun. Am I missing something? I thought you were supposed to wash cars in the shade. Right?

By the way, that is NOT the $30k solar activated wax that comes with the gold spoon... It's "only" the $7,500 wax:

If you have a 1Mil+ car, $30K wax is about 3% or less

If you have someone to wax you car everyday for the next 10 years, cost is about $8 a day + labor......
