i know this is out of topic, but how about applying tint/sticker on the emblems like wrapping on grille surround. is this option possible?

Thanks!

Yeah, should be a pretty close match to those BP emblems. As long as you apply the right amount of coats. My front emblem is pretty identical to my OEM black pearl rear emblems.

I don't see why not. Anything up front will be heavily prone to rock chips/debris though so be aware of that. Are you referring to like a carbon fiber/vinyl emblem wrap?

although unrelated to this thread, vinyling something as delicate as an emblem will be next to impossible imho.

Heh...tried this out on a test emblem, and it turned out gunmetal with a little bit of shine. It's still drying off right now.

Did I make the coats too thick?

great write up on how to black pearl the emblems ourselves... will be in my plans of future mods. this mod will definitely be cheaper than the cost of what they sell them for on sewell!

I still want to do this on my GS... The only problem is that the emblems are on the car.. Luckly i only have the V8 and L emblem in the rear.. Guess i could take them off and reaply some 3M tape...

the price from Sewell is like 289.00 or something.. I just looked yesterday..

Do the hobbie shops carry this exact paint code?

yep most of them do, it's about $5-6 for a can, and 1 can should be enough to do a set of 3-4 emblems. dont forget the clear!
