Default How to safely remove yellowish stuff fell from tree.

It's kind of hard to explain, and I don't have a pic. I will try to get one on here asap. I parked under some tree and see there are tiny specs of yellow spots, some are like tiny water spots and some are like grains of sands. They are yellowish. I can't seem to wash it off no matter what I do. I have to rub really hard to get it off. I even have to restort to using my fingernail at times. I left a few good scraches on the roof of the car doing that.

Is there an easier way to clean this. The other tiny spots seem to be tiny specs of sands. It seems to blend into the clearcoat. Very tough to get off. There are thousands of them on the rear bumper. I was thinking, would rubbing compound be safe? Any would 3M rubbing compound get rid of the light scratches?

help.

It sounds like that yellow stuff is sap dropping from the tree and it can be very damaging to your car's paint. You can use a clay bar to remove the spots and then stop parking under trees...

For the scratches, try Meguiars Scratch-X . It works well to remove minor scratches.

Will clay bar get rid of the toughest stains on paint? Some have been sitting there baking in the sun for the past week.

Default Spots

Sounds like could be artillery or shotgun spores.

Search care and detailing for a thread on 9-15-05 for more info.

May not be but sounds similar.

They really are a PITA, and should be removed ASAP.

Alan

if it's tree sap, you can use ice to "freeze" it and it should come off really easy w/o scratching the paint.......

I had that happen to me too! Luckily it was only on the windshield. A little rubbing alcohol and a razor blade took it off for me. Though, I don't think you should do that on paint...

GL with that. Post back here when you find a successful method

Bug Squash or claybar would be my products to try first. But, without pics, its hard to determine exactly what your problem is.
