Default Millenium Silver ES330 with Zaino Z-2 Pro

Here are some shots I took today with my new Canon A620...I did not dress the wheel wells or tires yet. I also have Z-2 Pro on the alloy wheels:

Door Flake

Fender Gloss

Hood Detail

Trunk and Side Reflections

Flakeville, USA

Here was my process...starting last weekend:

1. Zaino Z-7 wash
2. Sonus Block claying
3. Z-PC with Lake Country finishing pad
4. Z-7 wash briefly
5. Z-2 Pro & ZFX - first layer
6. Second layer of same
7. Z-8 Grand Finale
8. Brief wash and Z-6 before these pics to remove some rain from thunderstorm
9. Z-16 on tires after the pics...

I would have used Z-6 between layers but I did not have any. I have some now and I will do that before the 3rd layer.

The pics really don't do it justice. The car is just glistening in my driveway.

Man that looks just great . I am about to order the Zaino kit. I was not real sure how much of a difference the Zaino would make on a Millenium Silver car, like mine. Man it looks like your car is glass! I am now fired up to get to work on mine! Congrats on your finish, hopefully mine will look that good.

Thanks Texas, metallic silver seems to be a strength of Zaino. It looks very clear on silver yet brings out a gloss and shine that rivals the Pinnacle Souveran carnauba I used to apply. Plus you get terrific durability.

I put a third layer of Z-2 Pro on the car today since we had sunny weather and 65 degrees...I did a Z-6 wipedown before the Z-2Pro/ZFX combo. These end of day shots show the wetness a bit better than the earlier pics:

yesman, would you be able to give us a brief rundown of your Zaino process? I have read the various threads about it but another rundown couldn't hurt. The finish on my car is very smooth. I guess I was wondering if I would need to do anything other than washing with Dawn, clay bar, wash and then start the Zaino?

Sure.

Zaino Z-7 wash, or Poorboy's Super & Slick
(if needed I use Z-PC or SSR2.5 if I see any marring, LC VC finishing pad)
Sonus Block Clay or Zaino Clay
Z-7 wash
Z-6 wipe down
Z-2 Pro/ZFX
Z-6, Z-8
Z-2 Pro/ZFX
Z-6
Z-2 Pro/ZFX
Z-8
Z-16 on Tires, Z-2 Pro/ZFX on wheels

I always felt that Zaino brought out the metallic particles in metallic paint better than other products, I've seen it happen firsthand with the before/after. Once again, looks superb. Cheers.

Thanks Dan. Yep, Zaino really seems to bring out the paint flake.

Did a complete Zaino process on my 2000 ES300 (with only 36K on it) weekend before last. It looks as good as I expected from the reviews I had read. It looks fantastic with that wet, high gloss look! It actually looks "newer than new" if'n you know what I mean.

Question: I started with the recommended Dawn wash and a complete claying. However, on the flat surfaces (hood and trunk lid) I am still feeling some slightly rough particals? This is 5+ year old paint. SHOULD I CLAY THESE AREAS AGAIN AND RE-ZAINO?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I might do a light polishing with Z-PC or Poorboys SSR2.5 using a finishing pad, then wipe down with Z-6 and apply Z-2 Pro.
