Question Paint Care?

Hi All
I just purchased a 2002 Indigo Blue RX300.
I am glad to be part of the club. What an awesome truck.
My question is about what waxes everyone uses.
I have some very light scratches in the paint and it seems
to be from an occasional car wash I would think.
I have tried a few products but I am not happy with
the results yet.
I have tried 3M's finesse it II and Race Glaze.
I have had a lot of cars and a lot of colors even my black
Maxima was easier than this color to get it to look good,
but this Indigo Ink Pearl Blue has got to be the toughest yet.
I have been reading about this high end system by
Pinnacle called The Souveran system, The cost is pricey
$169.00 but if it works I won't mind.
Does anyone have any input on this wax or the system
they use on there Indigo Blue?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks again
Tony Tirone

Congrats on your new RX, best of luck with it.

Many people here use a product called Zaino. It works great but it's quite a process. I use Rejex on all my cars including my Vette and IMO it's better than Zanio and it's very easy to apply compaired to Zaino. Another product people have been giving rave reviews is Meguiars NXT Generation. The great thing about NXT is you can buy it at a local auto store or Walmart while Zaino and Rejex it available mostly over the Internet.

For the fine scratches after you use 3M Finesse It you may also need to use a finer polish like 3M Swirl Mark Remover. I would suggest going to Autopia for more info on car care.

I have a Blue IS300, not as dark as indigo but I also have a black truck and there are a ton of products out there from Meguiers, 1Z, Poorboys, Menzerma, Klasse, etc. that will work great if used correctly. The prep is #1 in my book, after wash and clay I use the 1Z metalic and paint polish for swirls and scratches but any good polish will work, then I use Klasse All in One and Klasse Sealant Glaze topped with Souveran carnuba wax.

I've also used Zaino on my black truck but keep in mind they call it a polish but it is actually a sealant, it has no abrasiveness to it at all so even a good prep under Zaino is needed.

Blackfire is a very good product, rich in oils, by far one of my favorites. It can be tricky until youve learned its characteristics. Some people complain it leaves dark spots, this is probably due to uneven application, and can be readily remedied with an additional coat to insure eveness. Its overall look is very filled with depth, and really has an ability to bring the dark, back to dark colored finishes. Very durable, should get 8-10 weeks or longer if proper care is given once its been applied.
