Well, I got my new NAV screen shipped from China in THREE DAYS! I was surely surprised.
BUT, like I feared...the new NAV screen DID NOT fix MY NAV issue. I still believe there is a fault in the screen's power supply; for which I have no clue how to repair. Looks like I'll be sending mine out to a guy in the Atlanta-area, as he has and can repair faulty power supplies AND faulty motherboards.
Gville, can you post pictures of the electrical ribbon on the aftermarket screen that the circuit writer is used on.
Also Gville, i have one other suggestion for you to fix your unit that might work.
First you will need a heat gun and of course disassemble your nav unit once again. Once you have it apart remove the nav screen and put the heat gun at its maximum setting at hit up the circuit board with the heat (Go in a circular motion and don't stay in one spot for more than 1 second). Do this to all the components for about 5 min and let them cool to a touch before you reassemble if you have any luck this will re solder any loose contacts on the board / power supply and get you up and running.
I've personalty have done this to my PS3(yellow light of death) and just yesterday to two Honda ECU's that for the GSR I just purchased that would still not work after I replaced all the capacitors on. Once I did the method above and reassembled the ECU worked and fired the car right up.
^Well, exactly what portion are you wanting pics of? Would marco pics of the OEM one be sufficient instead? The aftermarket one I have installed in the NAV unit now and it is re-installed in the car. Not wanting to dismantle for the third time this weekend. LOL!
Yeah, kinda like the solder joints on a 5th gen main relay I had to fix once. I do believe this would probably kick the screen back on, but only as a temp-fix. I'd have no clue as to finding out where the problematic joint was and risk fixing it with my lack of soldering skills.
Instead what I'm going to try is sending my unit down to this gentlemen in the ATL-area and he will be able to diagnose and fix my problem. I spoke with him over email, and he has fixed a couple units with the exact same problem as mine; but of course he won't go into detail as to what was the fix. I'm hoping he will tell me what the fix is after I have it shipped and he fixes it.
Oh, just a sidenote; I took time today to ensure that all of the connections AND fuse blocks relating to the NAV unit/display were getting power. I found the power leads in the connectors going into the back of the unit and all have power; the fuses relating to the NAV I was able to get readings on, except for TV Display #1 & #2 on the drivers-side fuse block. But I believe that is because my screen isn't working now, so there's no power readings to trace.
Could someone with a functional NAV screen get readings from the 10A and 7.5A Display #1 & #2 fuses on the driver's side fuse block? Make sure the screen is on.

Thanks!
I could do this for you tomorrow after work. Do you need actually volt numbers or just if they have power or not?
***UPDATE*** Well, I now have a fully functional NAV unit once again! I wish the fix was by what I had done or that it was cheap...but it wasn't. I sourced a good, working '08 NAV unit from a Craigslist seller that works with salvage Lexus stuff. He was advertising a complete '08 IS350 motor/trans for $2700 and said that he has a lot of other parts from it...one being the NAV unit. I threw out a low offer of $400, and he said he'd take it...but only if I gave him my "bad" NAV unit. GLADLY! So I swapped out the NAV at his place, and now I'm now again running at 100%! MEGA EPIC Christmas gift to myself!
I haven't received it yet, but the guy from ebay said he fixed my unit. Hopefully it was a dysfunctional unit and not something wrong in my car. I have a good feeling about it though.
^Was it the guy near the ATL-area...the one I recommended? Well, mine was definitely a NAV issue; so if remember right we had the same NAV issue symptoms. So whatever he did to fix I'm sure will get you back up and running! It's so nice the have heat/air again!
