Sixty Dollars for Cabin Air Filter
I paid $60.00 for replacement oem cabin air filter today. Pretty pricey. I guess Lexus feels if we can afford the car, we can afford these prices. Is there a less expensive alternative out there?

Yes, there are a bunch on eBay. Lexus wanted $60 to change the cabin air filter in my LS 400. Found the OEM for around $30 on eBay and changed it myself. Not sure about the 460, but on the 400 it takes about a minute.

I vacuumed mine with a shop vac and it's good to go for another 15,000 miles (probably will replace at 30K)

I just ordered two on eBay for $17 each. THere was also a nice link to a four step installation guide from TYC, the maker of these filters. Looks like you can change them in about 5 minutes or less. Anyone know how to reset the warning indicator that says you need to change the cabin air filter - it goes on at 20K miles. Thanks.

There's also a good remove/re-install procedure in your owner's manual, sec. 4.3. A filter change reminder, along with a number of other maintenance reminders can be scheduled/deleted/modified in the INFO/MAINTENANCE information screen. *but that filter is the engine's air filter*
Edited: Coincidentally, my cabin air filter reminder just showed up on the dash center display (30K kms for me or 20K miles for you), not the Navi screen as I suggested, as I'm sure happened to you as well. So this warning may or may not disappear when a new filter is installed - it remains to be seen. The tip given below by Stoks looks like it will work.

When you first start the car, depress the "Auto" button on the dash below the NAV screen area and hold it long enough to hear a couple of quick beeps (few seconds I believe).
Warning indicator is now re-set.

Yeah, I think I can tell you how to reset the warning indicator...

Yeah, that's it. Sorry about the confusion. I knew it was one of those buttons, but had forgotten it was the "off" button

Got the filter today. Installed it in less than 5 minutes. I did need a flashlight to see the inside of the glove box. No tools were needed. For $60 a pop, I could do this for a living, even with the filters costing $17 each.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I'm at over 21,000 miles and my alert hasn't shown up yet. Others have told me it usually shows up around 15,000 miles (?)
At any rate, I ordered one of these filters, too, and I'll go ahead and change it out.

Replaced mine last night. Compared the OEM to the replacement and they are identical in every way. Even the "UP" arrow is the same; obviously this Taiwanese company must be "the" supplier to Lexus. Three easy steps, following the accompanying instructions complete with photos. Great Ebay supplier; bought two here. The ad says 460, but the package also listed the 600 as it uses the same filter. I also sprinkled a few drops of eucalyptus scent oil on the element before installing.
Also reset the replacement reminder per Stoks' instructions above...
