Isn't the intake air temp sensor in the MAF?

Are you still getting code 31? Reset your ecu by disconnecting the battery for a bit and try restarting the car. If you still get code 31 then it has to be something related to your maf.

Since you already changed your maf, then it must be your connections. Check all the connections and make sure everything is plugged in and that you're not missing any wires.

Since your car didn't detect any input from the maf, then the car goes into a fail safe mode where the ignition and injector timing are controlled in relation to engine rpm, throttle angle, and isc step value.

Check the wires, check the connections, check your hoses.

I can send you the complete diagnostic procedure for a code 31 from the repair manual if you want.

Default Iafv

I rebuild my IAFV (can not beleive I did that) the bearings came in to day. Started the car and let it run for 5 minutes. Car starts first try everytime so far today. The wife took it on a long drive today also. She loves my SC, looks like I wasted my money buying her a hybrid. I am at work now with confidence that it will start in the morning when I leave. I have one question however. The DIY that I used recommended anti seize compound, however I did not use any. Should I tear it down and put the compound in it, and if so do I put it in with the magnets and bearings or out on the shaft. Guys as always thanks, I will see you with my next problem.
