Think of it this way - once you have the desired tune and power(proven power obviously from RR), there's really no need to keep the OBD device around unless you are constantly changing your setup.

In order for the ODB device to function properly for the new owner, the current owner must revert back to the stock map before the device can be reset.

And that's the worst part.
People believe that that's the way it works... but its NOT.
When you receive the tuner you are required to "marry" it to you vehicle. Marrying it makes the OBD tunner to only work on that one specific vehicle.
In order for anybody else to be able to use the tuner, it needs to be UN-MARRIED... Unmarrying the tuner with your vehicle returns the stock tune to your vehicle AND brings the tuner back to a clean slate to be able to tune another vehicle and start the marrying process again.

I recently purchased the RR OBD Tuner from another forum member. Unfortunately his was still married to his car as it was totalled before he could do so. Cost him $150 to have the unit reset from RR and with that came a tune for new user

FYI, I hope everyone understands why the OBD programming devices are "married" to a particular car.... If they were not, one guy would buy a tune and then pass the device around to his nearest 30 friends

Guys this unit was never used to tune my car. Rafi tuned my ISF directly in person with his master obd tool last year at Pocono Raceway. This tuner was sent later and never used on my car. Thanks.

There is a misunderstanding here on how the tune works...

Larry has our tune in his car... in fact he has a tuned intake, so unless he removes it he cannot even revert back to a stock tune or the car will not run without the reverting to the stock intake.

We flashed Larry's car at a track event last year. We did so out of convenience to him. We also gave him an OBD device so he could perform updates himself without driving over to us... but that device is still married to his car. He cannot sell the device unless he flashes his car back to stock, otherwise we will have to provide the purchaser of the device with a tune for $150... which we cannot do.

Right. I never used it or had need to update the tune. So if someone wants one that has not been used on a car here you go. You would have to contact RR for the licensing issues.

Thanks
