Sold

Up for sale is a MAPECU3 unit that came off of 06isDriver's IS350. It is in perfect working condition. Pepos and a few other boosted guys overseas are using these on the IS250 as well.

Using a MAPECU3 piggyback gives you the ability to fine tune AFR and timing. 06isDriver safely and conservatively gained 20whp on his NA setup which is linked below.

What about the USB Cable, and CD/Software? Does it have the Wifi option? Why are you selling it?

I thought that these were unable to be used on USDM ISx50's. Only JDM ecus can be re-programmed.

It's a standard USB cable and software is free on their site. The wifi option adds $200 so no it doesn't have that.

I never said I wasn't going to use one on my car. I'm making a custom harness and some other custom items.

Wiring diagram for is250 is on mapecu's website as well. There are 3 licensed mapecu dealers in the US and the cheapest price you're going to find is $695. Save some money here!

Hmm... So i would have to buy the ~$125 of additional parts to create my own harness based off their provided wiring diagrams. Then it will become a plug & play* piggy back?

* - Any idea how difficult the actual tuning is? Do trained people need to be involved? I assume some dyno runs are needed to fine tune?

Have always wanted to get mapecu but always seem to forget about it.

I had some conversations with Elias in Greece several years ago about the tuning of the Mapecu with his s/c setup and it was very straight forward. At the time he was using it as a safeguard boosting 8psi on his IS250. Since then I'm pretty sure he has done more advanced tuning to safely make more HP out of the s/c.

The mapecu has autotuning features that allow you to create a quick safe basemap just by driving. Depending on how advanced you want to get with ignition timing and open or closed loop tuning you will most certainly need dyno time to make adjustments. There are A LOT of options out of the box and it all depends on how much you want to get out of it.

There was info. posted somewhere for a company that will make a 100% plug and play patch harness for any car with 5-8 day turnaround time. I'll see if I can dig it up. (I could make one if I had the female harness ends as I have male ends and spare wiring from my v8 swap....)
