This shouldn't be a hassle at all to ship, just buy a roll of bubble wrap - the kind with the really big bubbles - and wrap a few layers all around it and slap a UPS label on it. Should hold up just fine. Or even take it to a packaging company, they should be able to make a custom box for it for around $30 or so.

As others have said, i'm interested if you're willing to shop. I'll cover the shipping costs, so $100 + shipping materials and UPS charges. It has been 20 months since you posted it and it's still sitting around. By now I'd think it'd be worth the 30 minutes or so that it would take to buy the stuff and wrap it up.
