Harshness is not in the equation at all. Stiff or firm is the word.

When I say scrubbing, I'm referring to the bottom of the car below the rear bumper: the tailpipe and the spare wheel well scraping on the pavement on steep incline from a level field.

JacobT,

Is your number stamped on the spring in the same exact location as I have in the picture?

Mine is the sport version.

Yes. They are stamped on the same location with 52427/F for the front and 52427/R for the rear. But mine have H&R 98/5 I believe those are the manufactured date. May be they changed the part # between '98 and '99.

The H&R springs are 1.5" shorter than stock and have higher spring rate than stock, your stock shocks will last about 6 months before they wear out. I swapped out the H&R springs with stock shocks and 4 months later, the car became very bouncy. That's how I got Bilsteins.

Yah....I did a search online and found this site that indicates part# 29476 for Lexus GS300. Funny thing is that this site doesnt say that they are H&R springs.....just sport springs for Toyota and Lexus:

The link below is from Europe referencing the part number for GS300 (I don't think they have GS4 in Europe). Scroll down till you see the H&R link.

Default Part Number

I contacted H&R Spings this morning.....they said that the springs are identical (29476 and 52427). The 29476 is for the set of all 4 springs. The 52427 is for individual front or rear sets.

Don't make any sense to me, but that's what they said.

Thanks for the info. I think it's what you call "fuzzy logic"

Hey bravo261--

Can you tell us how the ride was on that setup (relative to the OEM setup)?
