Hello,

Can anyone recommend an alternative to the Lexus dealer for a replacement key? Also, is it advisable to flush my transmission and power steering? The fluids in both are rather dark. My 98' GS300 has 179,000 miles but is mechanically sound.

Hi, I ordered a key with remote and transponder for $80. You can get a spare without the remote for $12. Ricky, the owner was very kind and helpful.

Try www.ikeyless.com. I bought a couple of keys from them and they worked great. You just need to find a locksmith that can cut sidewinder keys.

you can use a transponder that comes out of the IS300 also. That's what I have as one of my spares and it seems to work just as if it was the master key. ALso, there is a company on ebay that will sell 2 key already cut to your car (you have to provide pictures of your key) for like 40 bucks. What they do is decode your key through the picture you send them and then in 4 days I got my key. No transponder but still, just getting a blank cut is already 30 bucks. Why not spend an extra 10-15 to have 2 keys. For 5 bucks more they will cut it for 2 different vehicle. Oh, and they gave me a lexus key chain too! 3 to choose from!
