HTe oem ones are metal, they have the plastic ones you get ooff ebay.

OEM ones are not metal... Atleast all the ones I have seen or put on.

The one you bought from carson is most likely made by Gazio. They're plastic, but that isn't to say the OEM isn't plastic either. I'll try to confirm if OEM is plastic or not, but I'm somewhat sure it isn't metal.

OEM is plastic. Platic chroming. I think the diference is that the OEM which is no longer available by itself is a much better quality plastic than the ones on ebay. It's definately not flexible at all. I have a couple on some wood consoles that I can sell... But I want to sell the whole thing... The other has a small crack that can be repaired with crazy glue. Let me know.. I will take $150 shipped.....

Yeah i can confirm that my 01 GS430 has one and its plastic not real metal, its chromed plastic!
