The black area in the back of the slats is not perfect kinda rough.. I never had anyone notice it.. but I did..
Its one of those things you cant see unless you are right up on it..

Wish I could help.. But for me to buy paint and materials to do it right would cost me around 40 to 50 bucks.. so I would lose.
