Does this filter provide an performance gains like a K&N or is just a fancy fram filter?
Is it rechargeable?

It is not a fancy FRAM filter. The TRD air filter is similar to K&N, provides a a slight gain of horsepower. In my experience, the biggest gain is the improvement on mid range power. The engine becomes more rev-happy between 2500 to 3500 range.

It is rechargable.
