Default F/S: 2000+ GS front "caster arms" new in wrapper

I ended up with an extra set of new GS "Caster Arms," which I don't need.

These are the longitundinally mounted arms for the front suspension that control fore/aft movement of the suspension. They are curved, shaped sort of like a banana, and basically connect the front suspension to the footwell area under the car. There is an integral bushing molded into the chassis side of the arm.

Several CL'ers are replacing these or waiting for the Daizen bushings to cure the notorious GS front tire wear issue. Apparently, the 2000+ bushings are different from the early cars, and Daizen is only offering the 98-99 bushings at this time. Replacement of these arms is highly recommended maintenance item if your GS has over 70K miles and has tire wear or tracking/wandering issues.

I have one right and one left arm, brand-new, never installed, still in the factory Lexus plastic bags.

I'll shoot a few photos and post the part numbers later tonight. They retail for around $140 each if I remember. I'll let 'em go for $100 each (I'm taking a loss) plus freight unless you are in So Cal and would like to pick them up. I don't have a use for them and would like to recover some of my investment.

Feel free to PM or e-mail me with questions:

Hey Bob,

One thing I am a little confused about is the years that this part is good for. Is it just for 2000 + GS cars?

If not, and can fit my 99, what would the total be including shipping?

My postal code is L6L 6T9. City is Oakville, province is Ontario.

Thanks!

Hi Hameed,

I'll have the guys at the dealership cross-reference the part numbers. I would think they'd be the same 1998-2000, but I could be wrong! At one time Daizen said they were different.

In the meantime, I'll check on the freight cost and take a few photos of them.

from speaking to todd at tm engineering, castor arms regardless of year will fit. the thickness of the castor arm bushings were different with years but the attachment points are the same.

if replacing bushings, the year is key since they had two different size bushings. if you are not replacing the bushings but replacing the whole arm, you should be fine.

contact todd to confirm this, but i'm sure you're good to go when you buy the complete arm.

Default Old thread, super bump!

I found the control arms, still in the garage.

Part numbers:

Arm assembly, lower #2 48670-30281

Arm assembly, lower #2 48660-30281

Here's a photo of them.
Price reduced to make stuff like this go away.

$150/pair + freight to you.
bigaudiobob@gmail.com

Or, I'm in Orange County SoCal, for local pick-up.

Best regards,
Bob

Let me check the ones on my car to see if it needs replacement or not. If it does, I'll contact you.

Are caster arms the same as the control arms with ball joints?
