this is the s-afc not the s-afc2. brand new, never installed, in the box w/ all included parts/manual

Maybe it's just ignorance, but what exactly does it do. I realize that it reprograms the Air/Fuel Ratio. But what does it do? I don't know how else to put it? Is an intake needed? Does it give you any NOTICABLE performance gains?

SAFC is good for when you have an intake, exhaust and header...gives the ECU a piggy back to tune the engine's Air to Fuel Ratio, cause when you have all these bolt-ons you are sure to be running really rich....with the SAFC you can tune on a dyno to get more RWHP out of the bolt-on combinations. I know I had one on my IS 300 and I was running an intake, header, exhaust and with the SAFC, I was able to tune out some more RWHP
