PIAA 168 White Bulbs
Got these awhile ago from Options Auto per the recommendations of many, but I thought the lights were a little too directional, and the girly really didn't like them over our other bulbs, so I'll like to pass them on.
They were installed and viewed at night, then driven about 5 miles while i looked at them from a different car and took them out promptly.
PIAA 168/194 bulbs
asking $19 shipped. I know, they're $16ish on the site, but shipping is something like $10. Just consider the overall cost and leave the smart comments at home

I've used these...a long time ago
I believe they are dual LED, they are very directional and look a bit purple.
I had them in my running lights, but took them out and replaced with superwhite bulbs.
They would prolly be fine for license plate

i bought like 20 LED bulbs from superbright after reading through your post.
