have the oem steering wheel from my 2015 lexus rc-f. took it off at 2k miles. it has a small scuff at the bottom pictured. i laid the steering wheel on the table with that part down and bumped it and it dragged a bit and don't even know how that happened. i know its an easy and cheap fix for any leather/interior mobile place to fix if it bothers you . everything always in air condition/heated house hold, non smoker . i literally have a parts room with just car parts and its been up in there since . steering wheel was always wiped down with a gentle cleaner. never conditioned, never greasy, never shiny.
