Hey bud, happy new year. Sorry to bump an old thread. Any chance you still have the Karl Sport short shifter?

I've owned my 2001 IS300 since it was new. A few years ago I went from auto to R154 manual. Then went to V161 6-speed, which I've loved. I'm thinking of selling the turbo kit and the transmission though, and going back to stock with some the tranny, and would love your short shifter.

Thanks!

The car was sold last week

All I have left are the new parts I never installed

No way! Lol
What're the odds I find your thread on a Google search 5 months after you listed it for sale and that the car JUST sold??
Any chance you could ask the buyer if he's willing to sell the Karl Sport shifter?
I could pay him $350 (or $300 and find him a stock shifter)

Either way, congrats on the sale!

Well, I'll ask. But I would have to do the labor so it would have to be worthwhile for me to arrange that.. :P The new owner can't even change a lightbulb without my help

Oh nooo lol. I know those types. I guess an idea would be for me to buy it from you for the same $350, and you offer to buy it for him for whatever amount. If he's not really knowledgeable on the topic and doesn't really care too much for it, I'm sure he'd take $150 or $200. Who knows. Worth a shot! And thanks for being willing to look into it. I appreciate it very much and would pretty much solve my dilemma of whether I should go through the trouble of going back to stock or not.

Okay, he said he'd do it for $350

I did tell him the shifter was super rare (as a lot of my parts are) as a selling point. But he does need a stock shifter in exchange, and he'll pay me to swap it

Hey man. Just wanted to follow up with you since you were cordial enough to reach out to your buyer on my behalf. I found one of the shifter on the my.is forum from a long-standing member who is parting out his Sportcross build. Amazing build actually of his Sportcross with manual tranny swap, customized L-tuned kit, and a million other things.

Either way, thanks again. Greatly appreciate you having reached out to the guy who bought your car and being willing to go uninstall it. Glad we didn't have to go through all of that though. If I end up needing it again for some reason, I'll be sure to reach out again. Regards.
