Watch Toyota Build Their New Headquarters Live in Plano, Texas
If you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Toyota is packing up their headquarters in the United States and moving to Plano, Texas. Aside from better brisket, Whataburger, and killer Tex-Mex, Toyota’s move has many business advantages for the company. If you’re interested in following the move that will displace Californians to a new state, Toyota has a way. They have webcams throughout their new facility to show the building progress.
While I may tease about the big move from a very liberal California to a very conservative Texas, it is a pretty significant move for the automaker. We’ve heard a bunch of different reasons from the move, from lower taxes to a more business-friendly atmosphere, but there is a significant cost in making the decision to move.
This move might establish a Toyota corporate presence in the Lone Star State, but Toyota isn’t new to Texas. The Tundra and Tacoma are constructed at the manufacturing facility in San Antonio. This move just puts their main offices closer to the highest profit-margin vehicles.
