Ultra-Rare Nürburgring Package LFA Up for Grabs in London
Originally Whitest White, one of 64 2012 LFA Nürburgring Package models wrapped in emerald green with gold flake.
How does Lexus top itself after building its ultimate halo car, the LFA? Send it out with the biggest bang ever: the LFA Nürburgring Package. Each of the 64 examples – made in tribute to the LFA’s class wins at the Nürburgring 24 – included a little more power, and a lot more carbon fiber. And like the “regular” LFA, seeing and hearing one on the street is a rarity unto itself.
One such example, though, turned up in London’s PistonHeads, capturing everyone’s attention, as well as it should.
This Nürburgring Package LFA isn’t an original resident of the United Kingdom, though. Instead, it arrived from one of the U.K.’s Commonwealth of Nations, Canada. Originally delivered to the Great White North in 2012, the LFA itself wore a very appropriate color for its surroundings, Whitest White. Two years later, it left for Jolly Ol’ England, where it has remained ever since.
Underneath the now-emerald green hood is, of course, the 4.8-liter V10, which received 10 extra horses for the Nürburgring Package, for a total of 563 horsepower. The power goes through the recalibrated-for-speed six-speed automatic to the rear pair of lightweight BBS mags. Carbon fiber aero contributed its share to the higher-performing LFA, especially on the ‘Ring itself. One example set a time of 7:14.64 on OEM Bridgestone Potenza street tires back in September of 2011.
Inside, the LFA Nürburgring Package is draped in black Alcantara with carbon fiber trim, where its two owners sat for a total of 12,000 miles over the past decade.
As for the exterior, as mentioned earlier, it’s no longer Whitest White, but emerald green with gold flecks. However, the panels weren’t painted over, but professionally wrapped. Thus, should the new owner desire to do so, they can have the wrap removed to reveal the true color underneath.
Speaking of, this LFA Nürburgring Package is now with its third owner, who paid around $1.15 million to bring it home. That’s on par with a black example going for $1.6 million on the block in Monterey, California back in August. Who wants to play the lottery?
