This 1250 HP Lexus IS300 is Too Powerful For its Own Good
That Racing Channel joins Albert from ADTurbo for a ride in a 1250 HP Lexus IS300 that culminates in catastrophe.
Over the years, the tuner community has brought us many wild creations. However, it’s not uncommon for one to go against their better judgment when building a passion project. Luckily this Lexus IS300 strikes the perfect balance between creativity and practicality. That Racing Channel offers an in-depth look at this 1250 HP IS300, which houses a controversial albeit beastly powerplant under its hood.
First off, let’s address the proverbial elephant in the room. This Lexus IS300 draws its power from a Honda 2JZ motor. Before all the purists scream sacrilege, this one-off IS300 still retains its original GE head. However, the connecting rods and pistons are all Honda-spec. Pembroke Pines, Florida-based Porting Solutions, ported the factory GE head.
Furthermore, the motor also gets a long list of performance upgrades, including a custom-spec cam, Bully intake manifold, Precision 8685 turbo, 12 injectors, and a 105 throttle body. As a result, the 3.2-liter displacement Honda-spec motor churns out 1250 HP of maximum power with 50 PSI of boost. Albert from ADTurbo is the proud owner and mastermind behind this insane Lexus IS300.
Albert sat down with That Racing Channel and offered more details about this 1250 HP Lexus IS300 build.
“It’s U.S spec as far as that you know, we had to make a lot of modifications to make everything work, make everything you know, sit where it sits right now because like I said drivability was a big concern and I wanted to have the car 100% street legal and 100% you know, drivable and then like I can daily the car,” explains Albert.
The car also gets an all-wheel-drive conversion which means that its 4L80 automatic transmission sends power to all four corners via a transfer case. Interestingly enough, this Lexus IS300 is entirely street legal and has creature comforts like power steering, electric windows, and A/C. With all of its supporting modifications, the drivetrain allows this IS300 to accelerate from 60 to 130 MPH in just 2.89 seconds.
“This car, I wanted it to be the way it sits right now. You know obviously compromising some performance, it is a heavier car. The car performs the way it performs, but at the end of the day, it always has, you know, a lot more left in it, but it needs to be a straight car,” explains Albert.
Unfortunately, the front driveshaft broke during a high-speed pull on the freeway, but Albert should not have any problem fixing the damage, as he is very familiar with his creation.
