Power is fun. There’s no doubt about that. Unfortunately, the IS300 was originally saddled with the solid, but “meh” performing 2JZ-GE. The chassis could handle more power, and everyone knew it. But the 2JZ-GE had an evil, hissing, fire breathing twin: The 2JZ-GTE, better known as the Supra motor. Of course, the twin turbos and endless potential of the 2JZ are a great fit for the IS 300. That combo can stand on its own today.
