Re-Visiting the LFA of Jeremy Clarkson’s Dreams

We’ve all experienced an utter lack of Jeremy Clarkson and his former Top Gear pals lately, but instead of just sitting around and waiting for their new highly anticipated Amazon show, the fine blokes at The Telegraph are actually doing something about it. They’ve started driving some of the show’s most highly-rated cars from past episodes, and reviewing them for the rest of us. And what better place to start this new series than with the Lexus LFA, Clarkson’s go-to car, if given the choice?

“If someone were to offer me the choice of any car that had ever been made ever, I would like a dark blue Lexus LFA.” Those were the high words of praise Clarkson once uttered about the Lexus LFA, so it only makes sense that The Telegraph would begin the series with such a well-deserving car.

Just because Top Gear reviewed Lexus’s super car remarkably well (as you can see in the video below), that didn’t automatically mean that Andrew Frankel of The Telegraph would be so impressed. But let’s be honest: who’s not impressed by the LFA and its 560bhp, 4.8-litre V10 engine, which makes one of the most glorious sounds ever created by man?

Indeed, Frankel called the car “a landmark,” “whose like we will not see again.” Still, Frankel didn’t go so far as to call it the best car he’s ever driven, like Clarkson. That would be the Ferrari LaFerrari. But Frankel does put the LFA in the same company. And darn nice company it is too.
