Andrew Atigehchi’s 2007 IS 250 in the Lexus Booth at SEMA
At SEMA in 2009, matte and satin finishes were super hot, and for a moment it seemed like they were poised to go mainstream in the form of factory options. Of course, given how tough the look is to care for, it makes sense that they never really hit the big time.
But with the popularity of wraps–it seems like half the cars at the show this year are sporting the treatment–I have to wonder if there’s room for manufacturers to offer this as a factory option? It seems like buyers might be willing to opt for a bolder color if they new they knew that they could just peel it off if they got tired of it. And look how awesome the satin black looks on Andrew Atigehchi’s 2007 IS 250!
